Web-based businesses generally have to decide between features and price when setting up their sites. Homestead Professional offers a good balance--users can easily build powerful sites with relatively little investment of time or money. Now subscription-based, Homestead provides hosting, domain registration, simple Web design software, and ongoing support in exchange for monthly charges.
Homestead's page-design software is easy to install and use; the interface is an intuitive drag-and-drop framework that permits quick and painless architecture. The range of options ensures that each site looks unique, so users needn't fear the cookie-cutter effect that turns off customers. While a small number of users may be disappointed that their site's interior pages have homestead.com URLs, most visitors either won't notice or won't care.
The subscription model carries with it abuse potential, so it's a good idea to keep an eye out for changes to service agreements, rates, and other Homestead-controlled details.
